Your contribution gives advanced energy a powerful collective voice in the political process, and helps secure a clean energy future for Colorado.
Over the past four years, Colorado has cemented its status as a clean energy and transportation leader in the West. The state has put ambitious GHG emission reduction targets in place for major sectors of its economy, and is taking bold action to electrify transportation across the board, decarbonize buildings, and modernize energy infrastructure to ramp up renewable energy production. The Democratic-controlled Legislature has touted multiple consecutive banner years of impressive climate and clean energy legislative wins. Now we need to defend those wins by taking action this Fall to elect legislative leaders we can count on to advance this strong track record.
All 65 seats in the House of Representatives are up for grabs this year. In the Senate, 16 out of 35 total seats are up for grabs. Republicans only need to flip a few seats in the Senate to overturn the Democratic-controlled trifecta in the Statehouse.
Funds raised during this event will be used to support legislative allies who can champion the clean energy and climate cause, including those who:
- Voted yes on Senate Bill 21-72 (establishes electric transmission authority and goal for joining Regional Transmission Organization);
- Voted yes on Senate Bill 21-260 (secures $730 million for transportation electrification initiatives); and/or
- Are in competitive races.
We will be joined by decision-makers who have proven themselves to be steadfast champions for the clean energy and climate cause, schedules permitting.
Note: To maximize COVID safety, all attendees must be fully vaccinated or wear a mask.
