Advanced Energy Action Fund PAC

Advanced Energy Action PAC is preparing for the 2023 Virginia elections by investing at the state level. Virginia is a leader in the energy transition being the only southern state to adopt a 100% clean energy commitment through the Virginia Clean Economy Act.

This year, all 140 seats in both chambers are up. Republicans hold the House 52-48, while Democrats hold the Senate 22-18, so control of both chambers is on the ballot. But if Governor Youngkin and the Republicans take the Senate and keep the House, they will repeal the landmark clean energy and transportation electrification laws like the VCEA and Advanced Clean Cars. Virginia’s the first line of defense, but not the last. That’s why we’ll continue to expand our investments across the country to ensure state and federal clean energy policies continue to work as intended.

Federal and state investments in clean energy have skyrocketed in recent years. The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the CHIPS & Science Act represent a deliberate focus on investing in clean energy. In 2020, the Virginia Clean Economy Act established Virginia’s 100% renewable goals with overwhelming support.

Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (then state Senator) was instrumental in the VCEA’s formulation and passage. Since her election to Congress in 2022, she has continued to lead as an advocate for clean energy and the 4th District of Virginia. Please join us for an evening with Congresswoman McClellan and some of Virginia’s most impactful legislators that will help maintain and expand the clean energy majority.
